For those looking to add a personal, crafty touch to their decor as the days grow shorter, Las Cruces Public Libraries has got you covered with its upcoming Paper Flowers Workshops. In November, adult library patrons can learn to make paper versions of hemlock and pinecones, setting a hands-on way to welcome the autumnal spirit within the confines of home. These workshops are not just for the crafty at heart, but for all who seek to engage in the tangible joys of creation.
There's no shortage of opportunities to get involved, with identical sessions being held at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 6, 8, and 15. For those weekend warriors, a session is slated for 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, and an evening session will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19. These events will transpire in the Craft Room at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, conveniently located at 200 E. Picacho Ave on Roadrunner Transit Route 1, offering a reprieve from the daily grind and a chance to create something beautiful.
Given that space is limited, and these workshops have often filled up in the past, interested individuals should act quickly. Prospective crafters must pre-register online to secure their spot in one of these November sessions, as per the City of Las Cruces, if all sessions are already full, there's still hope. Attendees can add their names to a waitlist, and additional sessions may be scheduled to accommodate the demand. This highlights both the popularity of the program and the library's commitment to fostering community engagement through creative endeavors.
