A tragic collision took place in Licking County yesterday afternoon, claiming the life of a motorcyclist. The Licking County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident, involving a motorcycle and a box truck, occurred around 1 p.m. near Columbus Road and Silver Street near Granville. NBC4i detailed that deputies responded to the accident following a call at approximately 1 p.m.
The victim was identified as 60-year-old Jeffrey Hurl from Pataskala. According to WHIZ News, he was pronounced dead at the scene, wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The sheriff's office did not immediately provide the circumstances surrounding the collision, and the incident remains under investigation.
While the condition of the box truck driver was not disclosed, the sheriff's office has yet to determine the cause of the fatal accident. Providing further information, WBNS stated that local authorities are investigating the crash.
