Alert for boaters and fishers: the Patterson Lake Access Area is getting a makeover. Starting Oct. 7, your gateway to one of the most serene lakes in the vicinity of Sun Mountain Lodge will be shuttered through Nov. 7, as announced by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.
The revamp includes the construction of a new concrete-plank boat launch that the improved safety for visitors and convenience is designed around. There will also be an upgraded ADA-compliant restroom, complete with parking stalls earmarked for easy access. For those struggling with trailers, the launch approach will be paved, and the parking area smoothed out, smoothing your path from land to water.
The first round of construction might put a pause on your Patterson Lake excursions, but WDFW assures you that everything will be good to go come November. Although additional components like piling and asphalt paving are on the docket for 2025.
According to the WDFW, the project's goal is to keep the lake's allure intact while upping the ante on recreational offerings. And they're asking for a bit of patience while the renovations are underway.
