
A pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle on Port St. Lucie Street yesterday morning. As reported by CBS12, the 48-year-old man was crossing Southeast Walton Road at the intersection with Southeast Main Street when traffic had the green light, according to the Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD).
The incident happened shortly after 10 a.m., leading to a quick shutdown of the eastbound lanes of Walton Road at the intersection, which have since reopened. The man sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Lawnwood Hospital. An update from the Port St. Lucie Police Department indicated that he is now awake and alert.
