According to an alert on the official City of Pembroke Pines website, families should note that City of Pembroke Pines Charter Schools will keep open today. However, ensuring the safety of students and staff, all after-school activities have been suspended for the day. The Early Development Center will also be operational today, but will close at 5 p.m. However, there will be a full closure tomorrow and Thursday.
Pembroke Pines City Hall, along with other City functions, will maintain a normal schedule today but will shut down operations at 5 p.m. Despite the uncertainty that Milton brings, the Commission Meeting is still set to take place, remaining scheduled for this evening at 6:30 p.m.
Recreational outlets such as Pembroke Pines Parks will mirror the 5 p.m. closure today and will remain closed tomorrow due to Hurricane Milton. The Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center also plans to follow suit by closing at 5 p.m. today and full closure tomorrow.
For those relying on public transport, the city's shuttle buses and senior transportation services will suspend operations tomorrow and Thursday, adhering today's 5 p.m. city-wide shutdown. The city's alert urges residents to stay tuned for any updates as the storm progresses further.
