Neighbors in the typically serene community were shaken by the night's events, with one resident recounting to NBC Miami, "Little did we know in the morning, we got the news alert on NBC and we were like oh my God that's behind our house," he said, expressing shock and concern, particularly considering the presence of children in the area.

The resident stated, “Sometimes there's altercations, there's way to work it out, gunshots is not the way to go, but some people resort to fix things in different ways and it's just unfortunate,” a statement obtained by NBC Miami.
