Peoria residents have spoken, their appetites and shopping preferences made clear through a recent survey conducted by the city’s Economic Development Department. The survey, which tallied the opinions of 1,480 participants, is set to shape the future of Peoria’s retail and dining landscape, as per the City of Peoria. With feedback now in hand, city planners are focusing on aligning with residents' desires for more diverse options.
Of those who took the survey, a striking 94% live in Peoria itself, painting a clear picture of local preferences. The demographics are telling, 46% of respondents come from two-person households, and 67% are without children at home. Financially, a significant portion of the participants, 67%, bring in a combined household income of $100,000 or more.
“We are grateful to everyone who took part in this survey,” said Jennifer Stein, Director of Economic Development, in a statement made by the official Peoria website. Her department underscores the value such insights bring in guiding the city towards improvements in job creation and enhancing amenities like parks and public safety.
