Two Perris brothers were brought into custody on a swarm of weapons charges on Monday, as authorities discovered an arsenal of ten firearms and sizable quantities of marijuana in their residence. According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, deputies were executing an arrest warrant for Raymond Martinez, 24, who fled the scene before being detained in the garage of the 1600 block Alberhill Street property.
During the arrest, officers spotted military-grade equipment including ballistic vests, an assault rifle, and ammunition – a chilling find in a civilian setting. The inventory of confiscated items grew as a search warrant was executed, revealing an extensive collection of weapons, ammunition, and drug-processing paraphernalia, as reported by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
The situation escalated as deputies unearthed 60 pounds of processed marijuana and over a kilogram of concentrated marijuana, valuing approximately $73,000 USD. This discovery prompted the Riverside Sheriff’s Marijuana Eradication Team (MET) to take the reins of the narcotics investigation.
Both Raymond and his brother, Ulyses Martinez, 22, were booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center facing numerous weapons charges, as detailed by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. Investigations are ongoing, and the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office is expected to handle the prosecution.
