A fire that began today afternoon at Calvary Church in south Charlotte caused a commotion, leading to one person sustaining serious injuries and a response from emergency services. The blaze was reported at the church located on Pineville-Matthews Road, which also houses the Calvary Christian Academy. WBTV stated that it wasn't clear if the fire started in the church or the attached school.
First responders quickly attended the scene, where Medic had to swiftly take the injured person to an area hospital with what were described as serious injuries. In the midst of tackling the incident, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department urged people to stay clear of the area to better manage the emergency.
