A fatal fire claimed the life of a Phoenix resident over the weekend. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the incident occurred on Saturday night in a trailer home situated near 35th Avenue and Glenn Drive. The blaze was subdued by members of the Phoenix Fire Department, who discovered one individual deceased at the scene. The victim was identified as 40-year-old Megan Vanderjagt.
Despite efforts by firefighting teams to save the individual, tragically, resuscitation was unsuccessful. As reported by 12 News, Phoenix police have since secured the area and an investigation spearheaded by the Phoenix Fire Investigations Task Force is actively seeking to ascertain the cause and origin of the fire.
