Landlords in Phoenix looking to boost their income may want to explore the City’s Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program. An open house event will be held to inform property owners about the financial benefits and social contributions of the HCV program, providing details on how to participate.

Set for tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the informational gathering will strive to connect landlords with the program that strives to deliver affordable housing solutions. This open house follows the city's efforts to establish stronger relationships between landlords and the HCV program. Deputy Housing Director Elenia Sotelo told the City of Phoenix Housing Department, “We want property owners to be well informed of the benefits of working with the Housing Choice Voucher program." She emphasized that such collaboration guarantees steady rental income while also providing much-needed housing for individuals and families in need.

The event will take place at Memorial Hall at Steele Indian School Park, located at 300 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85012. It is aimed at current and prospective landlords interested in the HCV program and its benefits. Attendees can learn about Housing Assistance Payment contracts, inspections, leasing procedures, and the voucher process. The open house will offer a hands-on approach with specialists from Housing, Human Services, Neighborhood Services, and Equal Opportunity departments available for discussions.

Landlords interested in attending the open house are encouraged to RSVP by emailing [email protected]. The event will feature two optional breakout sessions: one at 10:30 a.m. on Housing Quality Standards and another at 11:30 a.m. focusing on the Request for Tenancy Approval Packet. These sessions aim to provide landlords with information to assist in managing the tenant process.

Landlords participating in the program can enjoy several benefits, including consistent monthly payments from the City, increased renter stability that reduces turnover, and access to a landlord liaison and housing specialists. Computers will be available on-site for accessing important information. Light refreshments will be provided for attendees. Participants are encouraged to share their experience on social media using the hashtags @phxhousing #HousingChoiceVoucher #Section8 #PHXSolutions, as per the announcement from the City of Phoenix.
