Early this morning, a report of a stabbing led Pittsburgh Police officers to a residence on the 6800 block of Lyric Street in Homewood West. Per the Pittsburgh Public Safety Blotter, authorities were called to the scene just before 5 a.m.
Upon arrival, they found an adult female with a chest wound. Despite efforts to provide immediate care, the victim succumbed to her injuries at the scene. It is suggested that a confrontation might have preceded the unfortunate event, as indicated by preliminary investigations.
The neighborhood is now the focus of a Violent Crime Unit investigation, with detectives tasked with piecing together the circumstances of the stabbing. The Mobile Crime Unit has been at the scene, collecting evidence and reviewing video footage to understand the sequence of events that led to the woman’s death.
