Chaos briefly erupted in the 2500 block of Chauncey Drive yesterday when police were called to a stabbing incident at around 1:45 p.m. According to a report by the City of Pittsburgh's official website, Zone 2 officers arrived on the scene to find an adult male with a stab wound to his upper left arm. Witnesses told officers the man had been in an argument with a woman who appeared to, following the confrontation, stab him.
Emergency medical services were quickly on the scene to aid the wounded man. Pittsburgh EMS and Firefighters provided medical assistance before he was transported to the hospital. His condition was last listed as stable. During their investigation, police were able to locate the female suspect close to the incident location shortly after they arrived.
The area was blocked off while the Mobile Crime Unit investigated, recovering a kitchen knife thought to be the weapon used in the assault. Details are still limited, but it appears a dispute turned violent. The victim's identity hasn’t been released, and investigators are looking into what caused the argument.
The suspect, an adult female whose identity has yet to be disclosed, was arrested and is facing charges of aggravated assault.
