West Oakland saw a violent incident late last night. Police initially responded to a nuisance complaint on the 2500 block of Wadsworth Street just after midnight, but the suspect had already fled, according to the City of Pittsburgh.
Less than an hour later, the suspect returned, prompting a male resident to call the police, reporting that he felt forced to open fire. The suspect, identified as a female, was shot but managed to return to her home in Sheraden.
Emergency responders from Medic 3 quickly arrived and transported her to the hospital, where she was reported to be in stable condition. The suspect’s residence was identified on the 3100 block of Ashlyn Street, adding another layer to the night’s events.
Authorities have announced that the shooter will face charges of Aggravated Assault and Reckless Endangerment, underscoring the need for responsible firearm use and restraint in high-stress situations.
