
A 27-year-old moped driver from Port Huron was fatally injured following a collision with a car last week, succumbing to his injuries on Monday. The crash occurred at approximately 6:36 a.m. near the intersection of 10th Avenue and McPherson Street, in Port Huron. The incident swiftly attracted the attention of local authorities and emergency services, as reported by ClickOnDetroit.
Local police, alongside fire departments and tri-hospital EMS professionals, responded to the scene. Initial care was provided by McLaren Port Huron Hospital, following which the victim was transferred to McLaren Macomb for advanced medical treatment owing to the serious nature, of his injuries. Tragically, the individual later passed away as a result of the injuries sustained in the collision. This turn of events was confirmed by a statement obtained by the Detroit News.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash remained at the scene and is said to be fully cooperating with the investigation. "The victim driving the moped, who had been hospitalized following the accident, succumbed to his injuries on Monday, September 30th. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family during this difficult time," the Port Huron Police Department expressed in a press release, echoed by various media outlets including the Port Huron Times Herald. Authorities have not yet determined the exact circumstances leading up to the tragic accident.
