In a span of two days, Mt. Juliet, Tennessee became the stage for the arrest of three Nashville men and the recovery of two stolen handguns. A traffic stop on Thursday, October 24, prompted by a window tint violation on Golden Bear Gateway, resulted in the arrest of an 18-year-old male. The Mt. Juliet Police Department stated the handgun recovered was reportedly stolen from TriStar Summit Medical Center's parking lot in Hermitage.

The teenager was detained without further incident and booked into the Wilson County Jail. Although the specific charges he faces remain undisclosed, the incident has been highlighted as a part of a proactive policing strategy by the local authorities. This event came on the heels of a similar scenario on Wednesday, where a traffic stop led to the apprehension of two more individuals, ages 29 and 28, who were found in possession of narcotics along with a stolen Glock handgun. According to WKRN News, both suspects had histories of robbery convictions and were also booked into the Wilson County Jail.

The gun involved in the Wednesday incident was reported stolen from near Buchanan Street and 9th Avenue in Nashville back in May 2023. As detailed by the WSMV, the 29-year-old was also wanted for a failure to appear on a charge from 2022. In their statement, the Mt. Juliet Police Department highlighted the importance of such traffic stops, emphasizing their role in the community's ongoing safety and security initiative.

Across a six-month period, the Mt. Juliet Police have recovered 46 firearms involved in criminal activity, an effort that underscores the department's commitment to curb crime originating from outside jurisdictions. "These arrests underscore our officers ongoing commitment to proactive policing efforts aimed at ensuring our community remains safe from actual incidents that harm Mt. Juliet’s residents or visitors," reported the department on social media. Multiple illegal drugs were seized in the course of the arrests, further validating the necessity of such proactive measures.
