A blaze that erupted on the 23rd floor of a downtown Honolulu high-rise was swiftly extinguished, fire officials reported. The Honolulu Fire Department responded to a 911 call at 35 N. Kukui Street at 2:29 p.m. last Tuesday, dispatching 10 units and about 39 personnel to tackle the fire, as noted by KHON2.
Firefighters arrived at 2:35 p.m., commencing an immediate and vigorous attack on the fire. A thorough search of the premises confirmed that the building was vacant at the time of the incident. The fire was brought under control by 2:51 p.m. and was completely out by 3:01 p.m.
An investigation is underway to determine the fire's origin, cause, and the damage it caused. The findings will be made public once the investigation is complete. "All firefighters were accounted for with no injuries reported," a report from KITV reiterates.
