
Mountain View residents faced a sudden emergency as a fire broke out in a local mobile home yesterday morning, . At approximately 4:36 a.m., a 911 call reported flames in the 1000 block of Space Park Way, jeopardizing the lives of the occupants and their dwelling. The City of Mountain View Fire Department responded rapidly to dispatching units immediately after the call was received, with the first engine arriving six minutes later, details Mountain View city officials.
Prior to the fire department's arrival, a quick-acting Mountain View Police Officer reached the scene. The officer managed to contain the blaze using a fire extinguisher to remove the flames from an electrical exhaust fan. This early intervention prevented the fire from spreading until firefighting crews arrived and conducted a thorough overhaul, cutting open the ceiling and checking the roof for further fire extensions to ensure the flames were fully extinguished.
The residents of the affected mobile home did not sustain any injuries and were allowed to return to their homes after the fire was put out. As a gesture of support, the California Professional Firefighters Union provided the occupants a $250 gift card through its Supplying Aid to Victims of Emergency Program, which offers immediate relief to individuals facing the aftermath of fires and other disasters.
The swift response of both police and fire services mitigated what could have been a more severe event, keeping the damage to a contained $10,000, a mixture of lost possessions and structural harm. The source of the blaze was pinpointed as a malfunctioning bathroom electrical exhaust fan.
