Rancho Cordova Police Department officers made a routine traffic stop that led to felony drug charges for two individuals earlier this week. According to the Rancho Cordova Police Department Facebook page, a patrol officer pulled over a vehicle for a code violation, which quickly escalated to a drug bust.
The traffic stop revealed that both the driver and passenger were on active searchable probation. A search of the vehicle uncovered a significant quantity of blue M30 Percocet pills and rock cocaine, leading to the immediate arrest of both individuals for possession of a controlled substance for sale.
The subsequent booking process at the Sacramento County Main Jail unveiled more illicit substances. Police officers found that the driver had concealed additional drugs on his person, leading to an additional felony charge for attempting to bring drugs into a correctional facility.
The Rancho Cordova Police Department praised the stop as a demonstration of effective police work. Both individuals now face serious charges that could significantly impact their futures.
