The Reading Police Department is actively enlisting the help of locals to help quickly identify two individuals of interest related to a theft at the Reading Market Basket. According to a Facebook post from the department, the incident occurred yesterday, when a resident reported that her wallet was snatched from her purse, which was in her carriage at the time. The police have released images of the suspects and are urging anyone with information to step forward.
In the reported incident, a female is said to have approached the victim and created a distraction, which allowed a male accomplice to steal her wallet. The police have taken to social media in hopes that community members might recognize the persons of interest and provide assistance in the case. Reading Police Department stated on Facebook, "On Thursday, October 3, 2024, a resident of Reading reported that while she was at the Reading Market Basket, a female approached her and distracted her while a male stole her wallet out of her purse that was in her carriage."
