
A tragic incident occurred in Richland County on Wednesday afternoon, leaving a community to mourn the loss of a young road worker. According to various reports, Trenton Gallaway, a 20-year-old employee of the Richland County Highway Department, was struck and fatally injured by a Nissan Rogue SUV while performing maintenance duties. WKYC detailed that the incident occurred along Bowman Street Road, specifically between Myers Road and Amoy West Road.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that the incident happened just before 2:30 p.m., near Bowman Street in Franklin Township, when the Lucas resident was outside a highway department vehicle. A driver, identified as a 43-year-old Shelby woman, was attempting to bypass the work zone when she struck Gallaway.
