Yesterday morning on GA-400, a driver was hospitalized after a road rage incident escalated to gunfire. The confrontation occurred northbound near the Glenridge Connector, peaking during the rush of morning traffic around 7:15 a.m. According to FOX 5, Sandy Springs Police detailed that two motorists engaged in aggressive driving which led to one shooting the other.

Investigators found a Toyota 4Runner riddled with bullet holes at the scene. The driver sustained injuries but is expected to recover. While details about the suspect remain sparse, Sandy Springs Police described the shooter's vehicle as possibly a dark-colored Tesla with tinted windows and dark rims. In an effort to mitigate the immediate danger, two lanes were temporarily closed as officers worked at the location but have since been reopened.

The violence garners a reminder from law enforcement on road safety. "We've got to slow down," Sandy Springs Police Sgt. Leon Milholland urged in a statement obtained by FOX 5. "We've got to be attentive, and we've got to be considerate of other drivers, and not get in a situation where our emotions get the best of us."

While the victim have non-life-threatening injuries, the potential for a more tragic outcome was certain. "They could’ve led to more serious injury to the driver or innocent drivers driving up the roadway," Sgt. Leon Milholland told Atlanta News First. The search for the shooter continues, and the public is encouraged to contact the Sandy Springs Police Department at 770-551-6937 with any pertinent information.
