Boston is currently hosting Robert Pattinson and Zendaya, who are in the city to continue filming their upcoming movie, "The Drama." Today, fans gathered along Federal Street to see the actors and the production, as reported by MassLive. At one point, amidst the extras and camera activity, Pattinson, wearing a black raincoat and glasses, was seen performing a scene with a woman in a wheelchair, taking multiple takes of a poignant moment.
According to a Boston.com article, production took over a large area of downtown Boston near the Bank of America building, where Pattinson was seen filming outside as police-controlled cars honked and traffic backed up on Summer Street. At the same time, Pattinson and Zendaya were seen interacting with students at Phillips Andover Academy, which was transformed into a fictional "Cambridge Art Museum."
Both Pattinson and Zendaya have attracted attention since their arrival, with Pattinson arriving a day earlier. Social media featured their presence; a TikTok user recorded Pattinson leaving Harvard University, while Zendaya was spotted around campus and having a casual meal at Tatte in Beacon Hill earlier in the week, as confirmed by MassLive.
Directed by Kristoffer Borgli and produced by Ari Aster, "The Drama" has generated local employment for film workers, with staffing beginning this summer and location scouts marking sites across the city. The film follows a couple, played by Zendaya and Pattinson, as they navigate challenges leading up to their marriage. The cast also includes Mamoudou Athie and singer/actress Alana Haim, who were seen at the Somerville Theatre, according to Boston.com.
Anticipation for "The Drama" is building ahead of its planned 2025 release. While A24 has not shared specific filming locations, residents of Boston can expect to see the production in progress through the fall, concluding in December, as per Boston.com.
