Nearly a year after a Sacramento woman's fatal overdose, police have arrested 31-year-old Kyle Lawrence Firebaugh in connection with her death. According to FOX40, Firebaugh faces charges of homicide and felony narcotic sales following the December 2023 passing of 32-year-old Bianca Bewley. Bewley was found dead in her home in the 5900 block of 34th Avenue.

The Sacramento Police Department revealed that Firebaugh had been in touch with Bewley about the drug prior to her overdose. In a statement obtained by ABC10, Firebaugh was booked into Sacramento County Main Jail and is held without bail. The police's investigation further indicated that Firebaugh admitted to supplying narcotics, and was found to have purchased a substantial amount of fentanyl, just hours before Bewley was declared deceased.

Sacramento Police Chief Kathy Lester emphasized the risk associated with fentanyl. "This case underscores the deadly threat fentanyl poses in our community," Lester told ABC10. "Our detectives, alongside the Sacramento County DA's Office, have worked tirelessly to hold those responsible accountable. Fentanyl is not just a drug — it’s a dangerous and lethal substance, and this arrest reflects our continued commitment to fighting its presence on our streets."

Looking ahead, Firebaugh is expected to face the Sacramento County Superior Court on October 28. The Sacramento Police Department is encouraging anyone with information about the case to contact them at (916) 808-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357). Callers have the option to remain anonymous and may qualify for, a reward of up to $1,000 if their information leads to further developments in the case.
