
It's that time of year again when the Saint Paul City Council gives nods to exceptional local businesses making their marks on the city's diverse economic tapestry. True to the celebration of community and enterprise, the 8th Annual Saint Paul Business Awards have been dished out to some deserving recipients. Council President Mitra Jalali champions the city's wide-ranging business community, stating, "Saint Paul is home to an incredibly rich and diverse business community, from the Little Africa Corridor, Selby, Grand and Downtown, to the West side and Eastside – all across the city." Mitra Jalali added "We are honored to host the Saint Paul Business Awards and uplift our community business leaders each year," according to the City of St. Paul.
The public's voice certainly echoes through the People's Choice Award, which ended up with the revered Willie's American Guitars in its hands, at a convenient location for the music-hungry masses at 1381 North Eustis Street in Ward 4. Meanwhile, the Good Neighbor Award landed on Storehouse Grocers' doorstep, recognized for their unwavering dedication to improving the community nesting at 781 7th Street East in Ward 7.
Small businesses are the backbone of any local economy, and with October being Cybersecurity Awareness Month, these enterprises must shore up their digital defenses. "Never enter credentials when prompted via an emailed link," and "Don't open email attachments unless you're sure they're coming from a trusted source," are just a couple of the useful tips the newsletter provides, acknowledging the evolving cyber threats small businesses face today.
