Big news for the arts community in Salt Lake City, the Mayor’s Office is amplifying its investment in culture and entertainment for 2025. An additional $300,000 in funding is now available for local artists and cultural events through Salt Lake City's Arts, Culture, and Entertainment Fund. If you're planning an event that will enrich the city's tapestry with arts and celebration, it's time to get your grant application in.
Since the inception of this initiative in 2012, the ACE Fund has been a catalyst for over a hundred gatherings that celebrate Salt Lake City's unique flavor, welcoming residents from every quarter to join in unity. According to Salt Lake City, "In 2024, the ACE Fund supported 126 community celebrations, each of them contributing to Salt Lake City’s cultural identity." With the growing support, the city expects to empower even more events next year.
Grants available through the ACE Fund range from $500 to $10,000 and can be sought by event organizers as long as their events fall within city limits and align with the City's goals. As of now, applications are open but bear in mind the November 1st deadline; it'll be here quicker than a drumroll leading to a festival's opening act.
Interested applicants should mark their calendars for two upcoming information sessions. Running from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Sorenson Unity Center, Black Box Theater on October 3 and slipping into Downtown Main Library, Conference Room A on October 23 between 6-7 p.m., these sessions are a treasure trove of info on how to navigate the application process. It's a chance for folks to ask questions directly to the City's cultural representatives, a move that demonstrates Salt Lake City's tangible commitment to its arts scene.
