Near-record heat has led to a surge of buckled pavement in Utah; UDOT crews are patching pop-ups that can damage cars and close lanes.

A flash flood on Thursday closed SR‑31 through Huntington Canyon between Huntington and Fairview. Crews from UDOT and the Utah Highway Patrol worked to clear mud, trees and rocks from the roadway.

Granite won a $116.9M UDOT contract to extend SR‑177 in West Point, adding nine bridges, pedestrian crossings and major earthworks for the West Davis Corridor.
