A man has been arrested and is currently being held in Bexar County Jail after deputies uncovered evidence suggesting a string of sexual assaults in the San Antonio area. According to a report by KENS5, James Andrew Peters II is alleged to have used the 54th Street Bar and Grill as the setting for several encounters with women under the pretense of conducting business meetings, during which he would allegedly provide them with alcoholic beverages while sipping only water himself.
One of the victims reported to investigators that after having dinner with Peters last Thursday, she left the restaurant with him and was subsequently assaulted. Restaurant staff members confirmed to investigators that Peters was a familiar face, known for attending the restaurant with different women on multiple occasions. The Bexar County Sheriff's Office has voiced concerns that there may possibly be more victims and is urging anyone with information to come forward, as reported by FOX San Antonio.
FOX San Antonio provided additional details, revealing that during the meals, Peters would order alcoholic drinks for his companions, a tactic seemingly used to give the impression that he was partaking in drinking, which was not the case. Allegations also include one incident on October 4, where a verbal dispute is said to have escalated, resulting in Peters choking the victim.
Peters is facing charges of Sexual Assault and Assault/Bodily Injury. The Bexar County Sheriff's Department has actively encouraged any further victims to directly reach out and provide details that could assist investigators in the ongoing case, as per KENS5. To contact the Bexar County Sheriff's Office with any relevant information, individuals are reminded to call (210) 335-6000.
