A 54-year-old man was hospitalized after being slashed in the chest with a meat cleaver by his roommate, San Antonio Police Department reports. The violent confrontation occurred early Thursday morning in a home on the 200 block of Pinewood Lane, during what was supposed to be a simple move-out process, according to KSAT.
The situation escalated when an argument broke out between the victim, who was attempting to relocate his belongings, and the 41-year-old roommate, who has been giving the victim "a hard time," according to KENS 5. Allegedly, the confrontation led to the younger roommate wielding a meat cleaver and inflicting the chest wound.
The suspect has been detained and is now facing charges for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The victim, meanwhile, was admitted to the hospital in stable condition with injuries deemed not life-threatening.
