San Antonio authorities are currently investigating a grim scene near Walker Ranch Park after a body was discovered concealed on a golf cart along a trail this past Saturday. As reported by KSAT, an officer patrolling the area made the discovery around 3:45 p.m. in the 12600 block of West Ave., located on San Antonio's North Side. The deceased, a man estimated to be 20 to 30 years old, has not yet been identified, and the cause of death remains under investigation, with suspicions of foul play.
The park police officer, who was on duty patrolling the North Salado Creek Greenway System, came across an object that appeared out of place in the wooded surroundings. A further examination led to a startling find—a golf cart tangled in shrubbery, its passenger’s seat obscured by what looked to be a carpet or a tarp. According to a statement obtained by MySA, "The officer then removed the covering which exposed the body of a deceased man."
As the SAPD has yet to release a positive identification, they are calling on the public for any information that may prove pertinent to the case. Foul play has not been ruled out, and police are treating the incident with the utmost seriousness, indicative of a scenario where criminal elements may be at play. The San Antonio Police Department urges anyone with information to come forward and assist in what has quickly become an unsettling and urgent quest for justice and closure for the unnamed victim.
