A San Antonio woman, Anna Orourke, is currently held in Bexar County jail on a murder charge following the death of her neighbor, whom she is accused of intentionally running over with a vehicle. The incident happened yesterday morning on Putman Farm road in a Northwest San Antonio neighborhood. Police report that Orourke had an ongoing dispute with the victim, identified as Stephan Sanders, aged 56, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner, as KSAT reported.
Allegedly, this is not Orourke's first confrontation with others in her community. Neighbors have reported various incidents where Orourke had been involved in altercations. "She was very aggressive and antagonistic," according to one neighbor. The same neighbor detailed a situation where Orourke threatened to release her dogs while the neighbor was walking with a baby, as FOX San Antonio stated.
Orourke called the police around 1:30 a.m. on the night of the incident, claiming she had run over Sanders and requested they check on him. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Sanders deceased at the scene. Over the past year, Orourke and Sanders have been connected to police disturbances on 59 occasions, with several calls categorized as "disturbance-neighbor," as per KSAT data.
Community members have expressed their concerns and shared experiences with Orourke's behavior. One resident, Brittaney Lopez, reflected on Orourke's alleged harassment towards her family, including complaints made about her newborn baby to the police, which Lopez referred to as bogus. "In the middle of the night we’d see (Orourke) shine lights or strobe lights into the house," Lopez told KSAT.
Following this violent event, the neighborhood is longing for calm and peace, with residents like Lopez expressing the hope that such an incident will not recur. Another sentiment shared by those in the area was encapsulated by a neighbor who looked after Sanders for many years, leaving tributes at his residence after his demise and articulating the collective desire that Orourke not return to their neighborhood, as shared in a statement obtained by FOX San Antonio.
