Residents and emergency callers swiftly alerted authorities about a 1 alarm fire at a home on the 1200 block of Revere St in San Francisco. According to a post on the San Francisco Fire Department's Facebook page, the fire department's units encountered substantial flames emanating from the garage when they arrived. These flames had reached the second floor of the dwelling. Firefighters confronted an additional hazard when discovering a live power line sprawled across the street.
Efforts to quell the flames began promptly, as teams of firefighters rigorously worked to firstly extinguish the blaze engulfing the first level before ascending to the second floor in search of inhabitants. Amidst the chaos, it was reported that two dogs were still entrapped within the home. The fire department's search revealed both animals. One was found deceased, while the other was urgently transported to a 24-hour animal hospital via an SFFD ambulance.
The incident left five people without a home, prompting the Red Cross to step in to provide necessary assistance to those displaced by the fire. Pacific Gas and Electric Company was also called to the site to securely shut down the electrical power and natural gas connections to the property, ensuring the safety of the residents and first responders.
