San Francisco could soon host more than the Golden Gate and sourdough bread. It might welcome the planet's largest "Star Wars" collection memorabilia. According to a report by KRON4, four of the universe's biggest "Star Wars" collectors are joining forces to possibly bring "The Saga Museum of Star Wars Memorabilia" to the city. With over a million items, including rare concept art and screen-used props, this museum could become one of the most frequented destinations worldwide, affirming the Bay Area's already-established relationship with the iconic franchise.

Steve Sansweet, founder of Rancho Obi-Wan and the harbinger of the world's largest verified 'Star Wars' collection, is key in this endeavor and aims to make the future museum a hub for educational programming across STEM fields. "The legacy of Star Wars is coming full circle to help teach science, technology, robotics, engineering, art, and mathematics in this new museum," Sansweet told David Perry & Associates. They aspire to set up a permanent base where fans can truly immerse themselves in the lore and history of the beloved space opera.

While cities such as Las Vegas and Los Angeles are still in consideration, David Perry, CEO and Founder of David Perry & Associates, points out the inherent connection between "Star Wars" and San Francisco, not least because of George Lucas's roots in the Bay Area. "Over a million items from the Star Wars universe. Not only things that fans have collected, but priceless, one-of-a-kind icons from all the films from Star Wars, all the things that George Lucas created in his universe. It will be, arguably, from the day one, one of the most popular museums in the world," Perry added via KRON4.

This museum could also serve as an intricate mosaic of fandom, offering a stage for fans to closely engage with what has shaped their love for 'Star Wars.' "This new museum is for everyone who has ever felt inspired by Star Wars and its continuing legacy," said Sansweet through David Perry & Associates. Anne Neumann, President of the nonprofit museum located in Petaluma, envisions The Saga Museum as a natural evolution of Rancho Obi-Wan, which has already "inspired thousands of visitors through the 'Force' of imagination." The intent is not simply to house collectibles but to actively inspire the creative minds of tomorrow with this enduring saga's tales of heroism and adventure.
