Despite the proximity of the responding crews, only a few blocks from the incident, the fire managed to cause significant damage before it was contained. The official Facebook post by the San Francisco Fire Department reflects that the fire charred the carpet and burned through the flooring, extending its damage into the very structure of the roof and attic. To halt the fire's spread and eliminate lingering concerns of re-ignition, crews painstakingly opened ceiling sections to remove any smoldering material.
There were no reports of injuries among the residents or the fire department personnel. However, the repercussions of the fire were not only architectural but personal, leaving three individuals without a home. The Red Cross was promptly called into action, assisting those affected by the night's unfortunate events.
