With commendable speed, crews extinguished the main threat by 6 p.m., containing the fire to just two apartments, directly one above the other. Jake Pisani, the public information manager at SJFD, shared with The Mercury News, "It does not appear that either are considered life threatening," revealing the two individuals sustained leg and arm injuries, respectively.
The impact of the blaze went beyond the flames, as four adjacent units experienced light smoke damage. However, as the San José Fire Department stated, it should be habitable. Still snarled by the incident, traffic in the area remained affected on Lucretia Avenue for some time after the fire was knocked down.
