Prepare for a unique baseball experience as the Savannah Bananas return to major league ballparks for the 2025 season. Renowned for their entertaining on-field antics and fan-friendly atmosphere, the Bananas will play at several iconic stadiums across the country. According to the New York Post, the tour features two special games against The Firefighters at Yankee Stadium on September 13 and 14.
Miami fans have an additional reason to celebrate as the Savannah Bananas will host their unique Banana Ball games at Loan Depot Park on Saturday. This follows sold-out events at major league stadiums, including Boston's Fenway Park and Washington's Nationals Park this year, as reported by NBC Miami. The Bananas' innovative approach appeals to fans of all ages, featuring a two-hour time limit and interactive rules, such as fans catching balls for outs, that challenge traditional baseball norms. In addition to their ballpark appearances, the team plans to offer a "Bananaland at Sea" cruise departing from Miami and making a stop in the Bahamas from next Monday to next Friday. Tickets for their onshore games can be acquired through a lottery on their website, with prices starting at $35 for standard admission and $100 for the VIP experience.
In the 2025 season, the Bananas will compete against teams like the Firefighters, Texas Tailgaters, and the Visitors. The season will conclude with the 2025 World Tour Championship Series, scheduled for last Wednesday to last Friday at Grayson Stadium in Savannah, GA. Additionally, the Banana Ball Championship League (BBCL) announced plans to expand to a six-team league starting in 2026, featuring a 60-game season with signature events and playoff implications. Founder Jesse Cole shared this news on his Instagram, stating that "Starting in 2026, the BBCL will have six teams playing a full Banana Ball schedule," according to the New York Post.
For those who can't make it to the games, the Bananas have announced they will return to Loan Depot Park in March 2025, NBC Miami shared. With an expanding schedule and new, creative takes on America's pastime, the Savannah Bananas are not only changing the way the game is played but also how it is enjoyed by fans across the nation.
