Yesterday, a devastating house fire in Scottdale resulted in the death of a 71-year-old man, as confirmed by Westmoreland County officials. The victim, identified as Thomas Zeller, perished as the blaze consumed his home on the 900 block of Market Street. WPXI reported that fire crews were called to the scene just before 5 p.m. after multiple neighbors and a passerby witnessed the fire and contacted emergency services.
In the fire's aftermath, officials revealed that while Zeller was found deceased, a woman was reported to have been in the home as well but managed to escape to safety.
