Plans for a new automobile-themed entertainment venue in Scottsdale are revving up, with Platinum Advisors LLC's Jim and Ryan Riggs moving forward with their concept called Cartique. As ABC15 reported, the father-son team is poised to transform a 100,000-square-foot space within The Riverwalk Development into a hot spot for car lovers. The venue will not just showcase cars, but will also integrate auto-related art into its experiential design, aiming to buy the ground lease from CaliberCos, the current master developer of the site.
The proposed venue draws inspiration from the Riggs' own passion for automobiles and is set to be built on land owned by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. According to The Business Journal, the location will undergo a rebranding from Riverwalk to an entertainment district titled The Vibe, "The main purpose of it is to feature unique auto collections and unique auto art," Jim Riggs revealed, emphasizing the sale of extraordinary items, including vehicles and art that can't be found elsewhere.
Cartique aims to become a dynamic addition to Scottsdale's vibrant car scene, providing interactive experiences such as a competitive driving experience and opportunities for individuals to design and construct their own cars. Showcasing not only auto collections, but the Riggs family intends for the space to host specialized auto auctions, a speakeasy, food and beverage outlets, and event space. A "carcade," which promises competitive driving experiences, is also on the drawing board, as per The Business Journal.
Groundbreaking for Cartique is targeted for mid-2025, with an ambitious opening slated for the end of 2026. The estimated cost of the project stands at about $50 million, and while Jim Riggs confirmed several commitments for the project's equity, details on the partners remain under wraps. CaliberCos, who invested roughly $45 million for the land lease in 2022, has not yet disclosed any decisions on potential investment in Cartique, "We are currently in final negotiations with Platinum Advisors regarding the purchase of a parcel of land within Riverwalk but we don’t have any information to share regarding the potential project for this parcel," a spokesperson stated, as reported by The Business Journal.
The addition of Cartique is expected to further energize an area that already draws significant tourist and local interest. Neighboring attractions include the Talking Stick Resort & Casino, Topgolf, and the upcoming The Sydney, a development that will feature Reverb by Hard Rock Scottsdale – announced to open in spring or summer of 2026 – as well as other entertainment and dining venues. With Pure Pickleball & Padel and Home Run Dugout also set to break ground, the corridor rising near Loop 101 looks to be shifting gears to high-speed entertainment.
