Attention Seattle swimmers and aspiring paddlers: the Rainier Beach Community Center is welcoming everyone for a "Do'Nut Delay: Get Swimming Today!" event. This family-friendly event will take place on November 23, from 9 a.m. to noon, and offers more than just swimming fun. According to a recent post on Parkways Seattle, it presents a valuable opportunity for locals to secure swimming scholarships with Swim Seattle.
Expect more than just swimming opportunities. There will be people available to assist you with navigating the scholarship application process. To receive hands-on help, you'll need to provide proof of income, such as last year's 1040 tax form. If you've misplaced your tax form, a list of alternative acceptable documents is available on their website. In addition to the necessary paperwork, you can also pick up some swim gear while supplies last, including goggles, caps, and life jackets, all at no cost.
It’s a chance to explore the facilities and learn about class registrations through your new ActiveNet account. Co-sponsored by Community Health Plan of Washington, the event also focuses on community wellness and includes information about other local health services. You may leave with more resources than you anticipated.
You can also enjoy free donuts and pastries, perfect for a Saturday morning treat. So mark your calendars, Seattleites, and get ready to enjoy both the delicious snacks and the chance to sign up for swimming lessons.
