The National Weather Service in Seattle predicts a week of changing skies, from clear sunny days to a probable rainy Columbus Day and beyond, as Seattleites experience a true taste of fall weather. According to the latest report provided by the NWS, today will be mostly sunny with temperatures reaching nearly 60 degrees, while the north-northeast winds pick up momentum in the morning going from a light breeze to a speed of 6 to 11 mph.
As evening inches in, the city will see mostly cloudy skies with the lows hovering around the 47-degree mark while the north wind blows at a gentle pace of 6 to 9 mph. With the weekend ahead, Friday keeps the clouds around with highs expected around 65 degrees, but it's clear skies on Saturday aiming for a 70-degree peak, offering an ideal setting for any outdoor activities before the weather takes a temperamental turn.
Sunday continues the sunny repertoire with temperatures playing in the 70s again; however, approaching Columbus Day introduces a chance of rain after 11 am, despite partly sunny conditions and a high near 68, and by Monday night, rain is likely to become a more persistent guest. Rain is on the forecast for Tuesday, with a mostly cloudy sky and a high of 62, suggesting that umbrellas and rain boots should prep for action mid-week as Wednesday also promises rain likely scenarios with a high near 59.
A midweek look forward shows that the damp weather may be settling in for a stint, so whether it’s plans for Columbus Day or routines for the following workdays, Seattle's residents will do well to plan for wetter times while they enjoy the pockets of sunshine and dry pavemen.
