The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety has reported a second arrest in the ongoing investigation into a July homicide. The incident, which claimed the life of 30-year-old Charles Lee Weir, took place on Fox Ridge Drive, as reported by WZZM13. Authorities apprehended 21-year-old Deyonte Armstrong near Chicago, who was later arraigned on felony charges including open murder.
After being arrested by U.S. Marshals, Armstrong waived his rights momentarily to fight extradition and was transported back to Kalamazoo. He is facing serious charges, including open murder and felonious firearm possession, as FOX 17 Online reported. At his arraignment yesterday, he was denied bond.
DonQuay White, previously arrested on July 31, is the first suspect charged in connection with Weir's death. He faces similar charges as Armstrong, including open murder and firearms-related offenses.
