A multi-vehicle collision on King Street in Cohasset has left six people, including two infants, injured on Tuesday morning. The Cohasset Police Department reported the accident occurred at approximately 10:40 a.m. in front of the Preserve.
The crash involved four cars and required a response from not just Cohasset police, but also ambulances from neighboring Hingham, and Scituate Fire Departments. Details from the Cohasset Police Facebook page indicate that the vehicles were significantly damaged, requiring them all to be towed from the scene.
An investigation into the incident led to the issuing of a citation to a 76-year-old driver from Scituate, who was charged with speeding and failure to use caution on a state highway. Her identity has not been disclosed to the public at this time.
Traffic along Route 3A, between Lower King Street and Sohier Street, was narrowed to one lane, disrupting traffic flow for about an hour. Police took this time to investigate the circumstances of the crash and to gather accounts from those present.
