
A violent altercation on Tuesday night in Sonoma led to a stabbing and subsequent arrest. According to a social media post from Sonoma Sheriff, the incident occurred on the 800 block of Ludwig Avenue around 11:45 pm. Responding deputies found an uncooperative male victim with stab wounds in need of immediate medical assistance. The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was reportedly reticent to provide details about the altercation that resulted in his injuries. He was swiftly attended to by medics and transported to a local hospital.
Investigating officers identified and later apprehended 37-year-old Armando Gutierrez Jr. from Santa Rosa in connection with the stabbing. Gutierrez was arrested for felony assault with a deadly weapon and felony domestic violence. As violent crimes detectives converged on the scene to further probe the circumstances surrounding the attack, Gutierrez was placed in custody with bail set at $30,000. It remains unclear at this time what prompted the altercation or the relationship between the involved individuals.
