On Sunday, the serenity of Sonoma Valley’s Larson's Park was disturbed by burglary theft without respite. In a post by the Sonoma Sheriff’s Office, it was reported that deputies rushed to the scene at the 200 block of De Chene Avenue, only to find the absence of several tools from the Sonoma County Regional Parks’ Conex box.

On Monday, detectives from the Sonoma County Sheriff's Property Crimes Unit joined deputies in investigating missing tools. They identified two men, Bryan Gomez Miranda, 27, and Aaron Vargas, 28, both from Sonoma. The men were seen loading a Dewalt jackhammer, connected to a break-in, into a truck. A search revealed the stolen jackhammer and a later search of a house on Calle del Monte uncovered more stolen items belonging to Regional Parks.

Vargas and Gomez were booked into the main adult detention facility on the listed charges. Both were later cited and released with a promise to appear in court.
