A burglary at a South Haven Family Dollar store has led to the arrest of one individual following significant property damage. The incident occurred yesterday morning at the Family Dollar located at 615 Phillips St., near Green Street, as WOODTV.com reports.
According to South Haven Police Department (SHPD), officers were alerted by a passerby who noticed damage to the store’s glass door. Upon entering the store, the officers discovered the suspect, who is yet to be identified publicly, amidst a scene of disarray with extensive property damage including shattered displays and disheveled shelving. WWMT further details that "The suspect was taken into custody without incident, and the stolen merchandise from the store was recovered at the scene."
The SHPD is still assessing the full extent of the damage, which is believed to be substantial. In their coverage, WWMT notes that there are currently no other suspects implicated in the burglary. Officials estimate that the store sustained significant damage during the incident.
