St. Louis CITY SC has announced a partnership with Energizer, renaming their stadium to Energizer Park starting January 1, 2025. This change will replace the original name, CITYPARK. Energizer, a well-known company with deep roots in St. Louis, is taking on a significant local sponsorship role, as stated by Fox 2 Now.
St. Louis CITY SC's CEO Carolyn Kindle shared her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, "Energizer aligns with CITY SC in so many ways – it’s an innovative brand that delivers and embodies long-lasting energy, equaling the passion and energy of our fans on matchdays, and through this partnership shows its commitment to improving the St. Louis region." This statement, obtained by St. Louis Magazine, reflects the shared vision for growth and involvement in St. Louis.
The 22,500-seat stadium, known for enhancing the spectator experience and boosting downtown interest, will soon be branded as Energizer Park. This branding will appear on various club media, including social media channels, the mobile app, and a new website. The name change comes after a previous deal with Centene, which had naming rights from February to October 2022 but then withdrew. St. Louis Magazine noted the club's efforts to find a suitable local partner, leading to this new agreement.
As reported by MLSsoccer, the Energizer partnership is significant for both the company and the relationship between Major League Soccer and its corporate partners, especially with the FIFA World Cup coming in 2026.. Crucially, Energizer's CEO Mark LaVigne expressed his excitement about the deal, saying, "This is truly an exceptional moment for Energizer as we find new ways to engage our community, connect with our consumers and expand the reach of our iconic brand."
The partnership with Energizer is more than just naming rights; it signifies a commitment to the city's growth and innovation. The stadium has seen strong attendance, with fans showing vibrant support and achieving 34 consecutive sold-out home MLS matches since the club's inaugural season. In addition to MLS games, the venue hosts international sports events and has been recognized on the "World's Most Beautiful Sports Venues List 2024." As the club wraps up its season, the venue will host upcoming events, including part of the 2024 Big Ten Women's Soccer Tournament and a match between the United States Men's National Team and Jamaica, as mentioned by MLSsoccer.
