Early this morning, an argument between two brothers in the Fairgrounds neighborhood turned violent, resulting in a 37-year-old man receiving cuts to his face and hand. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD), the incident occurred around 1:50 a.m. near the intersection of N. Grand Blvd and Natural Bridge.
The victim reported that during the dispute his older brother, aged 42, pulled out a pocketknife and slashed him, causing his injuries, and unfortunately, as he tried to defend himself, he sustained an additional cut on his hand before he could flee from the altercation with his assailant. Police arrived at the scene, where they apprehended the suspect, and emergency medical services transported the injured man to the hospital, where he was said to be in stable condition.
The specific details about the argument and what provoked such a response remain unclear as the SLMPD continues its investigation into the motivations behind the violent act and is looking into the background of the brothers' relationship.
