In an effort to enhance the conveniences of green technology, St. Louis Park has integrated two new electric vehicle charging ports at the Municipal Service Center, located at 7305 Oxford St. According to a recent post on the city's Facebook page, these charging stations are accessible to the public, offering a free charge for the initial three hours and operating within the service center's business hours of 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The initiative is part of a broader city scheme to promote sustainable transportation options. The two new charging ports are part of a network that includes existing stations at the St. Louis Park Rec Center, ROC, Aquatic Park, City Hall, and Westwood Hills Nature Center. Aside from bolstering local infrastructure, the city aims to fully embrace electric vehicles by making it easier to quickly charge up during the day. However, it should be noted that overnight parking is not allowed at the newly introduced charging stations.
