According to CBS12, starting yesterday, "Kings Highway in Fort Pierce will be closed from Immokolee Road to Angle Road. Moving around the county will require residents, to seek alternative routes as the closures look to severely impact traffic in and around Fort Pierce. The closures also extend to county-run preserves which, have sustained significant damage including fallen branches and extensive flooding, as reported by TCPalm. The county stresses that the preserves will remain closed until further notice, highlighting the need for community patience and cooperation during this recovery phase.
Apart from the roadways, residents must also take note that their green spaces have not been spared by Hurricane Milton's damage. St. Lucie County officials announced that all preserves are currently closed, indicating a long road ahead for restoration of these natural areas. This closure does not include city parks in Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie, offering some outdoor options for residents amidst the recovery efforts.
