A high-speed chase through Los Angeles on Wednesday ended with a suspect in custody after a stolen Mercedes SUV was dangerously pursued by police. The Los Angeles Police Department began their pursuit in Huntington Beach around 11:30 a.m., as KTLA reported.

The suspect drove erratically across the city, heading towards the Inglewood area and at one point driving the wrong way on a freeway shoulder. This perilous maneuver took place while attempting to enter the 105 Freeway, with ABC7 closely covering the scene and witnessing several near-collisions with oncoming traffic. Ultimately, the chase ended when the suspect abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.

Police located the suspect hiding behind an overpass wall and took them into custody, according to CBS Los Angeles.
